Weekend with Ed Gordon is a Hit in Detroit and DC!


Detroit, MI (June 11, 2012) Award-winning television journalist, Ed Gordon, produces and hosts a new radio program. Weekend with Ed Gordon is a great mix of music, interviews, advice, issues and entertainment. It’s a radio show where you will find the biggest celebrities and newsmakers get useful advice, some laughs and hear the best of old school jams and today’s hits.

The program has launched in Detroit (WMXD) Sundays, noon- 2PM and Washington, DC (WHUR) Saturdays 7AM to great fanfare:

The show is packed with music and segments that offer the listener something they won’t find anywhere else on radio. Also, the show will showcase upcoming exclusive interviews with celebrities including comedian Kevin Hart and actress Halle Berry.

Star’s Story: An inside look at the careers and personal lives of some of the biggest names in music. Ed gets the stories behind the music like nobody can. “It’s been special. Eddie Levert, Charlie Wilson and Chante’ Moore are our first three! Each one of them opened up and shared very personal stories with us. It’s a great segment,” says Gordon.

That’s My Jam: Celebrities and newsmakers tell us their favorite “jam.” From Whoopi Goldberg to Condoleezza Rice to Common, you’ll hear what song they couldn’t get enough of back in the day.

Weekend with Ed Gordon has assembled a great team that will advise, engage and entertain the listener from week to week.

Work it out with Judge Lynn Toler: Popular television Judge Lynn Toler (Divorce Court) will give “straight talk” answers to questions about relationships.

Legal Letters with Judge Hatchett: Judge Glenda Hatchett takes on listeners’ legal questions and gives the answers they NEED!

Hot Topics with Boyce Watkins: Each week Syracuse University professor and social blogger, Boyce Watkins, takes on one of the week’s hot topics. From the real to the ridiculous, nothing is off limits. Listeners will have their say too!

Joe’s World: Comedian Joe Torry looks at the headlines and the world around us, bringing his comedic perspective to what’s happening.

Week’s Best: Each week Ed gives you the This Week’s Best. An upcoming movie, television show, a book, a stage play, a CD or DVD, Ed gives his personal stamp and recommendation about hot items that the listeners should know about.
